When do I need to order? How far in advance?
The most important items to order are the Day and Evening Invitations about 2 to 3 months before as they should usually be sent out about 8 weeks before the wedding. However, if your date is over a popular holiday period such as Christmas, Easter, a Bank Holiday or the Summer it is advisable to send them a little earlier.
How long will my order take to print?
Ashton's own range of stationery take only about 1 week to print. All the other ranges (e.g. CCA, Collisons, etc.) can take up to 3 weeks. Please make sure you allow enough time.
Do I have to order everything at once?
No, your day and evening invitations are the most important and are first priority. Other items can be ordered at a later date. We suggest the following schedule...| 12 weeks before | 6 weeks before | 4 weeks before | 1-2 weeks before |

How many invitations will I need?
Usually one per household - if you are expecting say 70 guests maybe order 40 invitations to allow for a few single guests and a few extra in case of mistakes.
- Orders of Service - one between two
- Place Cards - one each
- Reply Cards - one for each invitations (mainly day invitations)
- Menus - two per table
What if I run out of invitations?
You can re-order at any time but it can be expensive and minimum orders will be 20. It is best to order an extra 10 with your initial order as this will work out much more economical.
Is there a minimum order?
Yes, minimum is 20, although we can help in some cases with smaller quantities (for example overseas weddings). Please ask.
What information do we need when placing an order?
Whether ordering by phone or online with our mix 'n' match service you will need to decide:
- what type of invitation you require
- the quantity
- what ink colour and card you require
- the typestyle
- the design
- the wording
- the color of the envelopes
Can I order over the phone or on the internet?
Once you have made your choice you can either order online or over the phone. If you order online we will get in touch to confirm details and choices (see our mix 'n' match service). Please fill the form in carefully and don't forget to check all spellings
Do I have to pay at the time of ordering and how can I pay?
At the time of ordering we will ask for a deposit of a minimum of 25%, or if you prefer to pay in full at the start then that is fine. There are a few methods of payment (i.e. cheque, switch, credit card or cash). If you pay a deposit on ordering, the remainder will need to be paid upon collection. Payment can be taken over the phone if you are unable to call in or if someone else is paying for the order.
My partner and I work during the week and would find it difficult to spend time looking together at Ashtons, what can we do?
It is sometimes difficult to get together during the week as most people do work 9 till 5. Samples can easily be ordered over the phone at any time and you should receive them within a few days. Alternatively you can borrow albums from the showroom to take home and look through quietly together. Our Saturday morning opening 9 till 12 is ideal if you cannot come during the working week, but please remember to give us a ring the day before to let us know you are coming, because it can get busy (this only applies on Saturdays.) By doing this you help us to ensure we have sufficient staff on hand to help everyone, Thank you.
